Project Overview:

Merit was awarded the contract December 1999 with start of construction in the dead of winter. Demolition of existing canopies and corridor links preformed prior to structural components of the new administration and gym / stage area. Merit started renovation of existing structures upon completion of classes Spring semester 2000. extensive demolition, new structure, and finishes were required prior to start of class for fall semester 2000. the existing structures involved new masonry infill and windows, and extensive HVAC systems. All tied to the new central mechanical room. The new addition was completed spring 2001 incorporating administration, gymnasium, band and music rooms, main entry and corridors connecting the existing renovated classroom wings. Also incorporated was a state of the art media center for technology curriculum.
